James “Cowboy” Lemuel Childers – Obituary

James “Cowboy” Lemuel Childers, 80, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018. James was born on April 4, 1937, to parents Lemuel Grover Childers and Lola Heflin Childers. He worked for many companies throughout his working life such as Giant Foods, Holloways Warehouse Groceries, and Blue Bell. James was married to his loving wife, Teresa Sparks Childers, until her passing in 1990.

James was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

James is survived by his children, Jimmy Childers, Debbie Williams (Mike), Timmy Childers (Kathy), Kenneth Childers (Julie), Johnny Childers (Christy), Amy Jones (Charles), and Kayla Childers; sisters, Arlene Jurges, Louise Jones, Wanda Dickerson (Gary), and Georgia Howard (Butch); nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Mr. Childers will be Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A visitation service will be on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Childers Cemetery.
