Ruthie Jean Williams, 83, passed away, suddenly, on January 3rd, 2018, in Huntsville, AL, after a long and fulfilling life of family and friends.
Jean was born December 21, 1934 in Madison County to Marion and Hessie Wilburn. She was one of nine siblings and graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1953. Jean was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church Baptist Church for 51 years in Huntsville, AL.
She married George Williams on March 15, 1958, and they were married for 60 years and 10 months. She was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend. Jean loved cooking, traveling, playing cards and board games, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved baking bread and making jam and personally delivering them to friends as a gift of love. She will sorely be missed. She is survived by her husband; son Keith Williams (Teresa), daughter Kim Williams (Charlie Blass), sisters; Idella Smith of Fayetteville, TN, Mary Chisholm of Fort Worth, TX and Shirley Dreitzler (Dave) of Arab, AL; grandchildren, Ashely Powell (Brett), Hunter Williams, Sonya Williams; and one great grandchild, Dalton Williams, all of Huntsville, AL.
Visitation will be Saturday morning, January 6 from 9:30 a.m. un- til 11:00 a.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dennis Cleveland officiating and Mr. Brian Byrom, soloist. A graveside service will take place at Huntsville Memory Gardens, Highway 72 West, in Huntsville, AL, immediately following the funeral service.
