Mr. Edison “Papa Ed” Bragwell, 92, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Russellville Health Care. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Russellville, and faithfully attended until his health prevented it. He retired from Russellville Hospital as a lab/x-ray technician after 52 years of service. Also a veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Visitation with family and friends will be today from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Dr. Wade Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville. Pallbearers will include grandsons and great-grandsons.
Mr. Bragwell’s survivors include a son, James A. (Jimmy) Bragwell and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Cindy Brown (Lynn), Tammy Stone, Greg Stone (Holly), Melanie Prince (Scotty), Michael Stone (Samantha), Ann Stone, Scotty Bragwell (Mitzi), and Daniel Smith (Erin); 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene Boyd; former son-in-law, James L. Stone; and former daughter-in-law, Tommie Bonds Bragwell. Nieces, nephews, and friends also survive him.
Preceding him in death were his spouse of 73 years, Ann M. Bragwell; daughter, Janice Bragwell Stone; parents, Valson and Minnie Bragwell; sister, Maxine Bragwell Thorn; and brother, Carl Bragwell.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kevin Kelly and to the entire staff at Russellville Health Care for the professional and compassionate care provided their special loved one.
