Deborah Joyce Cole Herrera died on December 23rd at age 62. Visitation will be Friday, December 29th at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle from 11am to 1pm, followed by a 1pm service.
Debbie was born in Hartselle to Laverne Waddell Moody and John F. Cole. She was preceded in death by her father and her in-laws, Riley and Van Pugh of Moulton.
She is survived by her mother, her stepmother (Carolyn Cole of Falkville), her son (Shane Robinson of San Francisco, CA), her daughter and son-in-law (Stephanie and Andrew Jones of Cypress, TX), four stepdaughters and a son-in-law in Southeast Texas (Rachelle, Lacy, LeeAnn, Nicole, and Michael), eight grandchildren, her sister (Patsy Cole of Hartselle), her sister and brother-in-law (Johna and Tim Junkins of Hartselle), her brother and sister-in-law (Johnathan and Lisa Cole of Eva), two nieces, two nephews, and many other family and friends in North Alabama and Southeast Texas.
Christmas was Debbie’s favorite time of year and she enjoyed sharing her love of the season, making it a brighter time for everyone she knew. Though she passed at Christmastime, she would want everyone to let this time of year remind them of the love and laughter she shared with so many people, especially her children and grandchildren. In the years to come, think of her and smile when you’re putting up a Christmas tree or setting out a nativity scene — and always remember the Reason for the Season.
