Pauline Roland Payton, 90 of the Georgia Mountain Community of Guntersville, died Saturday December 23, 2017 at Marshall Manor Rehab Center.
Mrs. Payton was born September 8, 1927 in Madison County to John Henry Roland and Ida Bell Bostick Roland. She worked for Blue Bell/Wrangler as a seamstress until her retirement. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, embroidering, reading, playing cards, games and working with puzzles.
Mrs. Payton was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Thornton and Linda Wagner; her grandchildren: Greg Thornton and Tracy, Paul Thornton, Stephanie Ayers and Lane; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a brother: Wayne Roland and a sister: Viola Martin Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence Edward Payton and her parents: John Henry and Ida Bell Roland.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Brothers: Andy Brown and Ryan Childers, officiating. She will lie in state beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Greg Thornton, Paul Thornton, Josh Fleming, Lane Ayers, Phillip Thornton and Jamie Bradshaw.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday December 26, 2017at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Sweet Home Baptist Church Building Fund.
