Funeral service for Aulton Andrew Stewart, 88, was Monday, December 18, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Anthony Patterson officiating. Burial was in Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation was from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Stewart died Friday, December 15, 2017 at Floyd “Tutt” Fann Veterans Home. He was born October 28, 1929, in Lawrence County to Andrew Stewart and Mary Pearl Fuller Stewart. He was self-employed as a mechanic and also worked for UPS. He was a longtime resident of Hartselle and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Wanda Laverne Culbreath, Mary Sharpe Stewart and Kytha Stewart; his daughter, Kathy Wilson; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Sharpe, Nashville, Tennessee and Robert S. Stewart, Decatur; three daughters, Janice Blankenship, Griffin, Georgia, Deborah Tedder, Arab, and Rita Athley, Decatur; one brother, Preston Stewart, Trinity; one sister, Clara Jenkins, Decatur; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Christopher Blankenship, Ricky Watwood, Shannon Wilson, Matthew Stewart, Kane Watwood and James Avery Wilson.
