Cherry Ann McNeese McCree passed away Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017, at NHC of Pulaski. She was born April 15th, 1935 in Giles County and was 82 years old.
Cherry was a graduate of Bodenham High School and Nashville General Hospital where she received her nursing degree. She was a fixture at the Giles County Health Department for 38 years. She was a 60 year volunteer with the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, and Matthew 25. Giles Professional Woman of the Year and Civitan’s family of the year. She was involved in the Giles County Senior Citizens Center, Boy Scouts of America, and served in the Tennessee Employee Association and the Giles County Election Commission. Mrs. McCree was a member of the Chestnut Grove UMC for 70 years serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Secretary, and pianist.
Visitation will be Friday, December 15th, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Saturday, December 16th, 2017 at 11:00am in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Debbie Eubanks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations in her name be given to the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church c/o Sharon Smith 2790 Oak Grove Road Goodspring, TN 38467
She was preceded in death by her parents Leon and Lona Ree Thornton McNeese along with her brother Winford Leon McNeese.
She is survived by;
Husband of 60 years Tommy McCree of Goodspring.
Son, Gary (Tammy) McCree of Goodspring.
Daughter, Marsha McCree of Pulaski.
Grandchildren Christina Lea (Mikey) Geary of Christina, TN. Lacy Reannon (Jay) March of Ashland City, TN. Mary Beth McCree Barrett of Goodspring. Rebecca Jane (Josh) Cleek of Winshester, TN.
Great grandchildren Laura Lee Barrett & Michael David Geary III.
Sister Mauvoline Burns of Pulaski.
Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
