Kenneth Ray Brewer – Obituary

Kenneth Ray Brewer was born April 29, 1938, in Collinwood, Tennessee the son of the late Percy and Emma Ellen Louise Hensley Brewer and husband of the late Christine Brewer whom he married Oct. 2, 1954.

He departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at the Boyd Cottages Assisted Living in Waynesboro at the age of 79.

Mr. Brewer worked for many years as a carpenter and metal manufacturing at the Reynolds Alloy Company in FLorence, Alabama and was a member of the Eastwood Church of Christ in Florence, Alabama.

He is survived by a son, Danny Ray Brewer and wife, Mechelle, two grandchildren, Jontae Winston Brewer and Micheal Handel Brewer, all of Lexington, Alabama; and four sisters, Barbara Ayers (Tommy), of Collinwood, Tennessee, Gale Brown (William), of Iron City, Tennessee, Glenda Holt (Johnny), of Collinwood, Tennessee, Debbie Brown (Dannie), of Cypress Inn, Tennessee.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by two sisters, Willow Ruth Daniel and Margaret Andis, and brother-in-law Johnny “Penny” Daniel.

Services will be held Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel at Collinwood with Sonny Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jontae Brewer, Handel Brewer, Russell Holt, John Holt, Randall Ayers, William Brown, Stan Bevis, and Robert Daniel.
