Lloyd J. Pennington, 85, passed away at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born on Jan. 19, 1932, in Franklin County, Alabama to Clancy and Evie (Jackson) Pennington. He married Betty S. Perry on Aug. 1, 1950, in Fulton, Mississippi. She passed away on May 7, 2000.
Surviving are his children, Jim (Kathy) Pennington, of Princeton, Illinois, Pamela (Bruce) Marsh, of Washington, Illinois, Gary (Becky) Pennington, of Sheffield, Alabama, and Vince (Denice) Pennington, of Killen, Alabama; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Lloyd retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1982 where he had worked in process control for 33 years. He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church where he volunteered in church ministry work. He asked everybody he met if they were a Christian and knew the Lord.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel in Germantown Hills, Illinois with Reverend Joe Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until time of his service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.
