Mark E. Mizell Sr., 59, passed away on Oct. 19, 2017. His visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. His funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in – Obituary East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Brother Marcus Lipscomb and nephew Will Brown.
He is survived by his son, Mark E. Mizell Jr. (Suzanne); and daughter, Emma McGee Mizell; grandsons, Eason Mizell and Coleman Mizell; sisters, Julia Dunlap (Wiley) and Kathy Brown (Norman); and brother, Noel Mizell (Dee Dee).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson Mizell, and parents, Bonard and Violene (Wallace) Mizell.
Mark was a native of Lawrence County. He graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1977. Mark was a service technician and supervisor for W and S Electric for more than 30 years.
Pallbearers include Wiley Dunlap, Norman Brown, Adam Dunlap, Garrett Mizell, Lee Carver, Ben Burks, Jeff Black, Alan Hassell, Ronnie Harris, and Trevor Wright.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (pancreatic specific) or National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
