Funeral service for Lois Evie Childers, 94, will be Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Denzel Borden and Bro. Francis Proctor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery (Speake). Visitation will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Childers died on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born September 6, 1923, in Lawrence County to William Henry Smith and Lucy Etta Smith. She was a homemaker along with being a poultry and cattle farmer. Lois attended Penn Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband: Isaac Childers, six brothers: Cordie Smith, Guy Smith, Cleveland Smith, Burley Smith, Herbert Smith and Dathern Smith, five sisters: Ruby Chenault, Ethel Brown, Moline Hampton, Flora Oliver, and Nellavine Glover and her parents.
