George T. Riser, Sr., 87, of Huntsville and a native of Lafayette, passed away Monday. A veteran of the US Air Force, Mr. Riser retired in 2006 from the Department of the Army after many years of service. He was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys K. Riser; daughter, Leisa Teed (Jim) of Huntsville; grandchildren Brian Teed, Alan Teed and Diana Riser; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at Whitesburg Baptist Church South Campus. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whitesburg Baptist Church.
