Funeral service for Opal Smith age 93 of Hartselle will be Monday, October 16, 2017 at 3:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Pearl Jenkins officiating with burial in the Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017 surrounded by her family, was born August 25, 1924 in Lawrence County to William Johnson and Ida Hampton Johnson. She was retired from Hartselle Hospital where she had worked as an LPN for over 25 years. She was a member of the Roundtop Community Church and was preceded in death by her husband; Thurman Smith, daughter; J. Ann Smith, Sons-in-law; Larry Clemons, Stanley Smith and Jimmy Thompson, sister; Betty Faye Smith and brothers; J.W., Almon, Clayton, Billy Neal and Jerry Johnson.
She is survived by 4 daughters;
