COLBERT and FRANKLIN COUNTIES-The Sheffield Police along with several other law enforcement agencies and the Colbert County Drug Task Force conducted a drug round-up on Friday, October 13. Authorities worked throughout the day locating the 80 people who had arrest warrants as the result of the investigation. By the end of the day, 42 had been served.
The roundup was the result of a nine-month investigation by Sheffield police and the Colbert County Drug Task Force into illegal drug activity in Sheffield and Colbert County.
“Of course we would have liked to have gotten them all, but we’re pleased to get more than 50 percent in custody and off the streets,” said Sheffield Police Chief Greg Ray.
Those arrested and their charges include:
