William Patrick “Pat” McCord, 67, died Oct. 6, 2017, at ECM Hospital. Pat was preceded in death by his father, Howard “Mutt” McCord, and mother, Jeanne Berryhill McCord.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mary Jo Rayburn McCord; sons, Jason McCord and Jon McCord; brother, Mike McCord; sister, Kathy McCord Brown; four stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat graduated from Sheffield High School in 1969. He was employed by Southern Sash and Lowe’s in his early years, was a Sheffield police officer for ten years, and retired as an over-the-road truck driver. He was known for his ability as a drummer and his love of music.
The family sends out special thanks to the CCU, the hospitality and care from everyone on the palliative care floor at ECM, and Milford Chambers (a friend for 55 years).
