Geraldine Hewett Tubb passed away on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at age 95. Born in Bessemer, Alabama, Mrs. Tubb resided in Tuscaloosa for 80 years before moving to Decatur becoming a resident of Riverside Senior Living. A graduate of Tuscaloosa High School, she attended the University of Alabama. Mrs. Tubb was the beloved secretary of University Place Elementary School in Tuscaloosa for 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jones Luther Tubb. Together they were charter members of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Myrick (Tucker), of Jacksonville, Florida, Glynn Tubb (Cathy), of Decatur; grandchildren, Laura McKinney, Palm City, Florida, Peyton Tubb Russell (Vaughan), Birmingham, Stuart Tubb (Callie), Decatur, Jordan Tubb (Stacie), Birmingham, Paula Jeeter (Kevin), Jacksonville, Florida and Betsy Bullard, Orlando, Florida.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Tubb will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 11 o’clock at Trinity United Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary beginning at 10.
