Mrs. Gayle Hornbuckle McMath, 78 of Union Grove, The Pine Ridge Community, passed away Monday September 11, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. McMath was born June 27, 1939 in Alabama to Albert Lee Hornbuckle and Letha Iona Garrison Hornbuckle. She was a 1956 graduate of Union Hill High School and worked as a secretary for Pratt Whitney Aircraft Company until her retirement. She loved her friends and family and she enjoyed her volunteer work at Burritt Mountain Museum in Huntsville.
She was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. McMath is survived by her son: Michael W. McMath; her brother and sister in law: Larry Orr and Cathy; her sister: Barbara Orr Foster; her grandchildren: Rochelle McMath and Michael F. McMath; special sister: Carolyn Gullion Thomas; special friend: Wendell Gullion; special caregiver: Christy Ary and her grandchildren’s Mother: Grethel McMath. She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Letha Hornbuckle; a brother: Leldon Hornbuckle; her sisters: Vera Green, Ira May Tidmore and Virginia Smith.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday September 15, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City with Brother Eldridge Criscoe, officiating. Burial will be in Rescue Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Shane Gullion, Greg Gullion, Andy Gullion, Brandon Smith, Scott Brandon, Michael F. McMath, Ryan Smith and Riley Gullion.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday September 15, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel.
