Billie Maze Black Hayes – Obituary

Billie Maze Black Hayes, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died Tuesday September 12, 2017 at the age of 72 at Crestwood Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama. Her faith and the support of family and friends gave her great comfort and peace during her illness. She was a retired civilian from Redstone Arsenal, working over 30 years in the Civilian personnel Offices for the U. S. Army.
She is survived by her husband: Jerry Hayes; her son and daughter-in-law: Chris Black and Melissa; her daughter and son-in-law: Beth Whitaker and Devin; her grandchildren: Jessica Oden and Heath, Jennifer Black, Dustin Whitaker and Caitlyn and Dalton Whitaker; great grandchild: Alexa Oden; a brother: David Maze and four nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Bill and Demress Maze and her first husband Frank Black.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Whitaker, Dalton Whitaker, Benji Spann, Heath Oden, Kyle Beddingfield and Mark Beasley.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday September 15, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brothers: Gary McRae and Dustin Whitaker, officiating. Burial will be in Brashiers Chapel Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday September 14, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
