Helen Meyer Schell, 83 of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 29th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 30th at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church with Father Michael Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Helen was a native of St. Florian and a member of Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henry “Coach” Schell; parents, John and Anna Meyer; brothers, Joe and Butch; and sisters, Marie, Margaret, Magdalene, and Flora.
Helen is survived by her sons, Tim Schell (Sherri), Ted Schell (Amy), and Jack Schell (Robin); brother, Charlie Meyer (Mary Alice); sisters, Cissie Meyer and Anna Beckman (Bill); grandchildren, Courtney Schell Warden (Andy), Teddy Schell (Stephanie), Lexee and Max Schell, Ryan and Katherine Gattman, and Matthew Thompson; great-grandchildren, Tripp and McKensie Schell, and Chase Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers include Henry Long, Paul Meyer, Eric Hill, Fred Hewitt, Steve Sims, and Danny Niedergeses.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Shoals Save A Life.

I came across this obituary while researching my mother’s family tree. I never had the pleasure of meeting Helen, and she was one of my mother’s first cousins. I was shocked to see that Helen had passed so very recently. My deepest condolences on the loss of your mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend
