Ruth Earlene Martin Haynes, formerly of Franklin, Tennessee, was born Jan. 31, 1927, in Collinwood, Tennessee the daughter of the late James Earl and Ruth Rae Morris Martin. She married James Abrams Haynes, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Haynes was a retired teacher from Rutherford and Williamson County school systems and had worked at Opryland Hotel and Apple Barn. She was a member of the Franklin First United Methodist Church, Franklin, Tennessee, and Ladies Hermitage Association. Mrs. Haynes departed this life Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, at the age of 90 years, six months, and 24 days.
She is survived by sisters, Mary Ellen Martin Berry (husband, Orbie Jr.), Cypress Inn, Tennessee, and Doris Annette Martin Stults (husband, Bobbie Gene), Iron City, Tennessee; half sister, Dianne Martin Butler (husband, Russ), Iron City, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by brothers, James Earl (J. E.) Martin Jr., Raleigh Gene Martin, and John Frank Martin.
Services will be Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Casey Jones and John Allen Berry officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Williamson Memorial Gardens, Franklin, Tennessee, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, Tennessee, directing. Pallbearers will be Kenny Martin, Tony Morgan, John A. Morgan, Dennis Brewer, Phillip Berry and John B. Morgan with Norbie Brewer as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
