Dan Travis Burgett, 68 of Cherokee Alabama, formerly of Arab, died Monday August 14, 2017 at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama.
Mr. Burgett was born August 20, 1948 in Marshall County to James Denny Burgett and Sarah Irene Perkins Burgett. He and the former Jenitha Sulapas were married for 18 years. He owned and operated a vending company. He enjoyed working with wood and electronics, he also custom crafted his own ideas from wood.
Mr. Burgett is survived by his wife: Jenitha Burgett; a son and daughter-in-law: Tim Burgett and Jennifer; a daughter and son-in-law: Ginger Laxson and Derek and his grandchildren: Emily Burgett, Christian Gomez, Mackenzie Gomez, Andy Burgett, Allyson Burgett, Will Beck and Noah Beck. He was preceded in death by his parents: Denny and Irene Burgett and his brother: James Don Burgett.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday August 20, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Parker, officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday August 20, 2017 prior to the service.
