UPDATE-Madison Police Advisory: HOMICIDE SUSPECTS ARE IN CUSTODY FROM PUBLIX.
MADISON-The Madison Police are investigating a homicide that took place at the Publix Shopping Center. Workers doing renovations on the Publix Shopping Center at 12070 County Line Road found a coworker’s body around 11:30 on Monday night, August 14.
When police first arrived on scene they believed the murder to be an industrial accident. After further investigation it has been ruled homicide.
Madison police are looking for two young men, ages 17 and 18. According to investigators they were seen in the area at that time and they are believed to be on foot.
The name of the murder victim has not been released and the investigation is ongoing.
Police description of the Runaways:
“SUBJECTS WERE LAST SEEN IN THE AREA OF GILLESPIE RD/COUNTY LINE RD. BOTH SUBJECTS ARE BLACK MALES, 1 SUBJECT IS 18 YEARS OLD LAST SEEN WEARING A RED SHIRT AND BLUE JEANS APPROX 5’10 180 POUNDS. SECOND SUBJECT IS 17 YEARS OLD LAST SEEN WEARING A BLUE SHIRT AND BLUE JEANS APPROX 5’10 150 POUNDS. ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE SUBJECTS PLEASE CONTACT MADISON PD 256-722-7190.”
Madison Police Chief David Jernigan urges residents to be on the lookout for anything suspicious such as cars broken into, people loitering or persons in the area who do not belong again call 256.722.7190 with information.
