THE SHOALS-TVA announced that the Wilson Dam Road will be closed on Monday, July 31 for maintenance over the dam.

The road over the dam will be closed from 8:00 AM and is expected to reopen on Thursday, August 3.

Barricades will be placed to redirect traffic from the area near the dam.  Inclement weather could delay the reopening of the road.

How much maintenance can you do without resurfacing the roadway itself? Another question I have is why have you been closing Wilson Dam to through traffic as often as you have over the past 2 years? Are you trying to condition people to the fact that Wilson Dam roadway will be closed to through traffic in the future? Trying to get people to go out of their way to travel across the Singing River Bridge? If I am trying to get to Cox Creek Parkway from the Ford City area you are costing me more than a gallon of gas plus an additional 30 minutes by not being allowed to cross the Dam. Thanks, you are costing me time at my billable rate of $100. per hour, gas, wear and tear on my vehicle, and the inconvenience of having to build extra time into my commute. I hope you have a nice day sitting in your air conditioned office.
