Robert Lee Smallwood, age 75, of Tuscumbia, AL, died Monday, July 10, 2017. Robert, known as ‘Ragman’ to many of his friends and coworkers, was a truck driver for more than 50 years for Ware Brothers, Dirago Oil, Decatur Petroleum, and Airco/BOC Gases. He was a member of Teamster Local 402. He was also a member of Srygley Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Wesley Smallwood and Hazel Smallwood and his brother, Charles Smallwood. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Smallwood; sons, Keith “Smurf” Smallwood (Kelli) and Kenny Smallwood; daughter, Karen “Sissy” Walker (Walter); granddaughters, Jennifer Oliver (Mike) and Taylor Walker; great granddaughter, Ju Ju Oliver; brother, James Earl Smallwood; and sisters, Virginia McCaig (Gary), Mary Inman, and Glenda Colagross (John).
Pallbearers will be Ricky Hamm, Andy Berry, Tim Inman, Darryl Ford, Bryan Dyar, Roger Franks, Tony Cothren, Andy Wayne Smith, Anthony Hester, and Daniel Rosser. Honorary Pallbearers will include Maynard Hester, Junior Lindsey, Harley Kent, Percy Glover, and Ronnie Stonecipher.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 13th, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Don McGuyer and Brother David Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
