Mr. Roy Eugene Jones departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 6 Months, 24 Days. He was born December 14, 1934 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late Cornelius Eugene and Opal Aileen Cole Jones.
He was united in marriage to Emma Frances Irwin on May 22, 1954.
Mr. Roy was retired assistant plant mangager with Lincoln Brass Works, member of the Waynesboro Mason Lodge # 127, Clinton Chapter # 9- Royal Arch Masons of Tennessee, Jackson Council # 13 CRYPTIC Masons, Jackson Commandry # 13 Knights Templar, Volunteer Trail Riders Club, and served his country in the United States Army and Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife Emma Frances Irwin Jones, brothers, Robert Jones, Jerry Jones, Randall Jones, Brent Jones , sisters, Betty Jones Melson, Margaret Jones, and Debbie Lineberry all of Waynesboro, TN. nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by step mother, Marie West Jones, brothers, James Frank Jones, Irvin Jones, Jackie Jones and Charlie Jones, sisters, Margie Maples, Clara Jones Floyd and Joyce Jones.
Services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Laverne Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangemnets.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 8, 2017 6:00-9:00 pm and on Sunday, July 9, 10:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro, TN.
