Patricia “Pat” McDonald – Obituary

Patricia “Pat” McDonald, 74 of the Ryan Community, died Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. McDonald was born July 20, 1942 in Etowah County to D. Thompson and Maudie Thomas Thompson. She was a 1960 graduate of Gadsden High School. She was married to Harold Dean McDonald for 57 years. Mrs. McDonald worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Arab until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in her flowers, watching western movies, crossword puzzles, painting and drawing; and her dog-Chester Arthur. She loved spending time with her family; especially during football season, watching Alabama Football with family was her favorite.
Mrs. McDonald was a member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Harold D. McDonald; her sons and daughters-in-law: Mark McDonald and Sandy, Matthew Patrick McDonald and Leslie and Mardy McDonald and Brandi; her grandchildren: Jacob McDonald and Abigail, Rachel Davis and Drew, Moree Raigh McDonald and Meadow Argel McDonald and her sister: Mary Bailey. She was preceded in death by a son: Michael Dean McDonald; her parents: D. and Maudie Thompson; a brother: Walter Thompson and several half brothers and sisters.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday July 10, 2017 at Brookwood Cemetery with Brother: Eldridge Criscoe, officiating and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Mark McDonald, Mardy McDonald, Jim McDonald, Craig Fry, Lanny Lancaster, Jacob McDonald, Phillip McDonald and Drew Davis. Honorary Pallbearer is Matthew McDonald.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at Arab Heritage Memorial Chape
