Mrs. Emma Sue (Black) Evans, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. A native of Tuscumbia, Alabama, she was born to Thomas and Emma Josephine (Willingham) Black. Sue was also a 1965 graduate of Deshler High School, Tuscumbia, Alabama. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 3360 Brookside Dr., Millbrook, AL 36054. Funeral services will immediately follow with a 4 p.m. burial at Guy Cemetery in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Evans, Jerry Evans, Julian Evans, Nolan Evans, Byron Coburn, and Roy Coburn.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Mr. Robert D. Evans; three sons, Tommy (Jewell) Evans, Jerry Evans, and Michael Evans; five grandchildren, Julian Evans, Nolan Evans, Emma Evans, Jerry Neal Evans, and Alyssa O’Steen; two sisters, Betty (Roy) Coburn and Carol Joy Poth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Brookside Funeral Home, Millbrook, Alabama, is directing.
