Mrs. Linda Ann Grissom King, 70, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Sanctuary Hospice House following an extended illness. She was born May 19, 1947 in Lee County, MS, where she spent her childhood, to Cooper Grissom and Nancy Heflin Grissom. She graduated from Baldwyn high School in 1965, continued her studies at Itawamba Community College, and Mississippi State University. She moved to Chickasaw County in 1967 and spent her adult life there. She worked as office manager for Cargill Grain Elevator for 20 years and Southern Cabinetry in Okolona for 15 years before retiring in 2015. She attended Parkway Baptist Church as a child and First Baptist Church of Okolona for most of her adult life. Her hobbies were work, enjoying her buddies, her family, and sleeping.
A celebration of life service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Randy Lewman officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Friday) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to service time.
Survivors include her son, Ty King (Gidget) of Spotsylvania, VA; daughter, Kim Fellows(Chris) of Frisco, TX; sister, Jeane Roberson of Tupelo; 6 grandchildren, T.J. Fellows, Jake Fellows, Cayden Fellows, Paige Tuvio (Seb), Morgan King, and Ben King; nephews, Nicholas and Landon Roberson and her extended King and Grissom families. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy King who died May 9, 2011; grandparents, Ethel and Lloyd Heflin and Lula and Eugene Grissom.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hanna, Jake Johns, Jonathan Carter, Sean Beard, Michael Carter, and Alvis Lee Corley. Honorary pallbearers will be her associates at Cargill Grain Elevator and Southern Cabinetry.
