Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Smith, age 92 of Athens, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was born in Morgan County on April 26, 1925 to James Mark and Mary Elizabeth Lawrence Lumpkin.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Winford Smith.
She is survived by three sons, Freddie “Butch” Smith (Vickie), Ralph Smith (Shelby), and Vance Smith (Brenda); two sisters, Bennie Sue Willingham and Myrna Morris; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bud White and Jay Looney officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00-1:45 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Chad Smith, Hunter Smith, Daniel Smith, T.J. Smith, Anthony Mitchell, and Jim Mitchell.
