Mary Catherine Torra – Obituary

Mary Catherine Torra died June 7, 2017, in her home in Red Bay, Alabama. Catherine was born in Russellville, Alabama on Jan. 9, 1942. She joined the U.S. Army in 1976 to serve her country. She was married to Gene Mann and later to John Torra. She went out kickin’, laughin’, eatin’ fried food, and remembering the good times. She leaves behind the reminder to live life to its fullest and to always “Be nice!”

Catherine will especially be missed by three daughters, Alisa Holmes, Katrina Maloney, and Lajuana Grincavitch; as well as her brother, Marlin Saint; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 6-8 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabam. Services will be Saturday, June 10, 10 a.m., at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Steve Lindsay officiating. She will lie in state Saturday, June 10, 9-10 a.m., at the church. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.
