Shirley McCormack Pace, 80, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, in Richlands, North Carolina. Visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, from noon-2 p.m. at Blythe United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Colbert Memorial Gardens. Mike Weldon will be officiating the service.

Mrs. Pace traveled many years with her late husband during his time in the U.S. Army making their home in Tuscumbia. She was currently living with her son in North Carolina. She was active in her church, Blythe Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member. Shirley lived right. She loved and laughed and it showed through the love of her family and her church family. She always had that little bit of mischief about her. Everyone that knew her loved her. Her faith never wavered. A spot in our family will forever be empty without her, but we all feel at peace knowing that she is with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Pace; father, Walter A. McCormack; mother, Dollye D. (McCaig) McCormack; brother, David A. McCormack; and sisters, Betty Sue McCormack and infant sister.

She is survived by her son, John Robert Pace (Becky); granddaughters, Theresia Carrigan and Elizabeth Malaro; great-granddaughter, Virginia Warder; sisters, Wilma Richey LoTpez and Lucy Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her church family for their continued care throughout the years and to the many family and friends.

Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family. You may sign the online registry at colbertmemorial.com.
