Kenneth W. Stanley, of Hardeman County, died mid-day Sunday May 21, 2017 at Park Rest, Hardin County Health Center in Savannah where he resided since November 2016. He died of complications caused by advance Alzheimer’s Disease. Kenneth was tenderly cared for by the wonderful staff at Park Rest.

Kenneth died at age 73 after almost 34 years of marriage of Paula Stanley. He was born in Abilene, TX, spending most of his youth in Corpus Christi, TX. He traveled the world for 20 years with the US Navy in the aviation field and then with Northrop Grumann instructing Air National Guard members in anti-missile technology. Since 1997 he has enjoyed retirement in Hardeman County. Kenneth was an avid genealogist, frequently doing cemetery look-ups, a member of the APTA and Hardeman County Arts Council.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Paula; his mother, Iva Stanley; two sons, Kenneth E. and Kevin W. (Katie) Stanley; six grandchildren; Jesse Tyler, Nickolas, Krista, Ryan, Dalton and Travis Wilbur; and one great grandson, James Stanley. Kenneth’s siblings are Jesse Stanley, Janice Stanley and Dorothy Carr.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Jesse L. Stanley. A Veteran’s Memorial Stone will be placed at the foot of his father’s grave in Evergreen Cemetery, Odom, TX. Alzheimer’s Disease is a cruel, demoralizing, incurable illness and needs a cure. Bless all who are affected by it!
