Ms. Willie Mae Collier, age 90, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at Florence Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. from Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Steve Baccus will officiate. Visitation was at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers are Dennis Collier, Mark Collier, Ricky Sizemore, Steve Sizemore, Steven Nabers, and Bryant Nabers.

Willie Mae was born April 20, 1927, in Beaverton, Alabama to the late Raymond and Bessie Mixon Sizemore. She attended Sulligent High School and was a 1945 graduate. After completion of high school, she entered college in Florence, Alabama at what was known then as Florence Teacher’s College (UNA). Ms. Collier was employed as a teacher, now retired, by Lamar County School Board. She taught Sunday school for many years at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Ms. Collier loved to read and teach.

She is survived by daughters, Johnnie (David) Lundin, Florence, Alabama, and Fran (James) Nabers, Red Bay, Alabama, and grandchildren, Steven and Bryant Collier Nabers.

She was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Bessie Sizemore; husband, Claxton Collier; brother, Joe Sizemore; and sister, Lucille Danner.
