Funeral services for Wayne Burgess, 83, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Steve Rodgers and Joshua Burgess officiating with burial in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Burgess passed away May 22, 2017. He was born May 6, 1934 to Hosie and Pearl Hawkins Burgess. He was a longtime member of Liberty Baptist Church, had retired from Cullman Products with 33 years of service and after retirement, his adventures of staying busy began.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Gary, Larry, Gregory and Charlottes Burgess; sisters, Evelyn Chappel and Oralee Stevens; brothers, Edward and Rayburn Burgess.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Jewell Baker Burgess; sons, Terry (Susan) Burgess, Ricky (A.J.) Downs and Wayne Downs; grandchildren, Joshua (Allison) Burgess, Ashley (Tony) Valladares, Franchesca (Derek) Stanley, Steven Morales, Wendy (Cordell) Carrithers, Felicia (Joseph) Bennett; great-grandchildren, Harrison Valladares, Braylin Stanley, Chase Cruce, Delaine Bennett, Kaelyn Bennett; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
