Johnny Walls, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at ECM Hospital. He was born to the late Dewey and Wilma Wayne Walls in Georgia. He attended Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church.
Johnny had a successful career as a superintendent/pipefitter traveling the country with many of his lifelong friends. He lived life to the fullest with hobbies of golf, horseback riding, gardening, fishing, and watching Georgia football and western movies. After retirement, Johnny enjoyed tending to his hay fields after breakfast with the “Fish Creel Crew.”
Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, from noon-2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel with Reverend Tommy Heaps officiating. Burial will be in McCartney Cemetery.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Juanita Walls.
He is survived by his children, Connie (Jeff) Swain and Rob (Patty) Walls; former wife, mother of his children and friend, Peggy Hatcher Walls; grandchildren, Ivey McGuire (Larry) Summerlin and Jaden Swain; great-grandchildren, Lee, Ridge, and Vayda; siblings, Brenda (Sim) Dixon, Buck (Cathy) Walls, and Tina (Mike) Jones; stepbrothers, Jerry and Jackie Flinchum;; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bumpus.
