Michael Wilbur Smith, age 75 of Athens, AL passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Smith was born on October 29, 1941 in LaVerne, CA to Wilbur and Evelyn Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Maya Smith of Parkland, FL; son, Nicolas Smith of Santa Fe, NM, and special friend Mary Elizabeth Worden of Colorado Springs, CO.
Mr. Smith is retired from the Missile Defense Dept., served in the Navy, and worked at NASA. He received his Master’s Degree at USC.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
