James “Pegs” Melvin Hall – Obituary

James Melvin Hall, age 70, of Tuscumbia passed away at Helen Keller Hospital on Saturday, April 22, 2017 after fighting a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Visitation will be Monday, April 24th from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Larry Smart officiating. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.

James Melvin “Pegs” Hall was born October 10, 1946 in Franklin County, Alabama and graduated from Russellville High School in 1966. He was a member of West Highland Baptist Church. James served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Nike Missile launcher repairman in Alaska and El Paso, Texas. He worked at U.S. Reduction in Russellville for 18 years and retired from Saginaw/Delphi after 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Marcy Hall; mother, Willie Mae Watson Hall Smith; step-father, Robert Smith; son, James Melvin “Jamie” Hall, Jr; sister, Wetha Wynoka Hall McMurry; brother, Terry Ray Hall; step-brothers, C.R. Smith and Ronnie Smith; son-in-law, Charles Colby Bynon.

James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Kaye Hardin Hall; son, Brenton Blake “Sam” Bange (Barbara),Tuscumbia; daughters, Brenda Beth Bange Bynon, Tuscumbia, and Amanda Susan Hall Files (Anthony), Sheffield; grandchildren, Brittney Noel Isbell, Hannah Christine Files, James Paul Files, Joseph Anthony Files, and Hunter Colby Bynon; great-grandchildren, Sway Anna Isbell and Brantley Blake Latham; sister, Betty Bedford (Roger), Gulf Shores, Alabama; brothers, Roe Erister “Rick” Hall (Linda), Muscle Shoals, Larry Wayne Hall, Russellville, and Jerry Herman Hall (Sybil), Franklin County; step-brother, Donnie Smith, Arley, Alabama; sister-in-law, Linda Masdon (Michael), Florence; several nieces and nephews; and beloved pets, Buck the dog and Robin the cat.

Pallbearers are Michael Masdon, Jonathan Tackett, Roger Lovett, Billy Beaver, Danny Inman, and Jimmy Byrd.
