Erin “Shorty” Franklin Thrasher, 85, died April 19, 2017. Visitation will be tomorrow, April 23, 2017, from noon – 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow, at 2 p.m., with Trey Snelling officiating. Interment will be at Shaw Cemetery.
Mr. Thrasher was a retired mechanic for the city of Sheffield, as well as a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Thrasher.
He is survived by son, Robert Thrasher (Julie); daughters, Teresa Snelling (Ricky), Mary Shuffield (Greg), and Monique Horn (Daniel); brothers, Hillard Thrasher, Gary Thrasher, Berlon Thrasher, Billy Ray Thrasher and James “Buddy” Thrasher; sisters, Jeanette Nichols and Audrey Foster; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Thrasher, Jamie Aday, Kawon Decatur, Jayden Goodloe, Devin Goodloe and Greg Stevenson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Mike Purdom, Gage Bowen, and Desmond Horn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
