Lawrence Bruce Hartman, Sr., 73, passed away from his earthly home on April 11, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving Wife of 54 years, Roma Dean Hartman, Two Sons: Lawrence Bruce Hartman, Jr. , Decatur, AL and Brian Anthony Hartman (Lisa), Waterloo, IL, Two Grandchildren: Jessica Brown (Nate) and Jackie Hartman (Mike), One Sister: Carol Hartman, Ionia, MI, and a host of friends.

He was born Monday, June 14, 1943, in Ionia County to Roy Alden Hartman and Winona Hulbert Hartman, who preceded in him in death. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during the Bay of Pigs invasion and was retired from 3M. He enjoyed his retirement by traveling to places all over the United States and had made numerous friends and acquaintences during his travels. He never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting new people in his travels. He was also preceded in death by a son: Barry Clemons Hartman, Step-Mother: Elfreda Hartman and his brother: Robert Hartman.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pearl Jenkins, Bro. Wendell Callahan, Bro. Tim Clark and Bro. Franklin Turney officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Decatur Morgan Hospital, Clearview Cancer Institute, Dr. Vahkaria, Dr. Buckner and Dr. Bechdach for their excellent care and support.
Pallbearers will be Don Sanders, Keith Callahan, Mike Henry, Nate Brown, Todd Burch, and Tony Mason.
