Glenn T. Jones – Obituary

Glenn T. Jones, 95, of Sulligent passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Optum Hospice in Birmingham. She was born on Sept. 8, 1921 to Emmett W. and Minnie Novella Turner Tollison.

Glenn had lived in the Sulligent area since 1940, was a secretary at Sulligent High School, co-owner of the Strand, Lamar and Twixt Theaters and had worked for The Bank of Sulligent. She was a member of Sulligent First Baptist Church and had served on numerous committees, WMU, Sunday school and training union class, member of the Sulligent Study Club and loved reading and gardening.

Survived by three daughters, Frances (Ernie) Schroeder of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Carol (Don) Turner and Jane Burleson, both of of Sulligent; one son, Ronald E. (Frances) Jones of Hoover; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Emmett W. and Minnie Novella Turner Tollison; her husband, Harold E. Jones; two sisters, Mildred Cammack and Catherine Bush and one brother, Rayburn Tollison.

Services held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the First Baptist Church in Sulligent with burial in the Moulton City Cemetery in Moulton. Brother Byron Pickering and Brother Jeff Chaffin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
