MONTGOMERY-Since 1985, April has been nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention & The Children’s Trust Fund have used this special time each year to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child maltreatment.
You are invited…Please join us at our pinwheel planting event Tuesday April 4, 2017, at
10:00 AM in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. (Note: The pinwheel is the nationally recognized symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention. It also symbolizes the belief that every child has the right to grow and flourish to his/her full potential within a nurturing environment.)
We will be planting our pinwheel garden at 201 Monroe Street Montgomery, AL 36104. This is directly across the street from the RSA Tower building.
This event brings together people to recognize and honor all the children and families of Alabama. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
The Court Square Fountain in downtown Montgomery will be blue April 1-10, 2017 in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
At sunset, on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 the RSA buildings will be recognizing the importance of families and communities by turning their lights blue.
The REALTORS® have long been a supporter and partner in preventing child abuse. We will be placing another pinwheel garden at the REALTOR’s building. We will have blue pinwheels displayed outside their building the month of April.
Wear Blue Day…Wear Blue on Friday, April 7, 2017 in support of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
