Jane McLeod Fendley Nabors, of Decatur, passed away March 25, 2017, at the age of 90. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church of Decatur today, April 1, 2017 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and a Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Oneonta at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Nabors was preceded in death by her husband, Herschell F. Nabors; brother, Franklin M. Fendley; and parents, Millard Woodfin Fendley and Essie Pauline McLeod Fendley.

She is survived by daughter, Janet C. Nabors of Decatur; son, David W. Nabors (Joan) of Duncanville, Texas; grandsons, Adam D. Nabors (Courtney) of Keller, Texas and Brent A. Nabors (Jamie) of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ryann Nabors and Aiden Nabors, of Keller, Texas; brother, William E. Fendley of Auburn; sisters-in-law, Marilyn N. Dickson of Birmingham, Marjean N. Simpson, of Rome, Georgia, Betty N. Railey of Murray, Kentucky, Joyce B. Nabors of Decatur and Wanda F. Massey of Oneonta; cousin, Dotty Lipford (Sonny) of Midland, Georgia; special “adopted” family member, Stephen M. Collier of Decatur; 16 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Nabors was born in Port Deposit, Maryland. She held a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama, and worked as a secretary at the Morgan County Health Department for 18 years. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, spending her last 56 at First United Methodist of Decatur. She spent her spare time volunteering, putting in over 9,000 hours at Decatur General Hospital over a span of 20 years.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Roselawn Funeral home is privileged to serve the family.
