Amon Dale Light – Obituary

Amon Dale Light age 68 of Sumiton, passed away Wednesday March 22, 2017. He worked as a chef at each of the Lee’s Family restaurants and at Jeans restaurant as well as Jean’s on the River. Through his knowledge of the restaurant business and excellent cooking skills, he was very instrumental in the beginnings of both family businesses.
Funeral services will be Monday March 27, 2017 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Elzie Brooks and Rev. Daniel Gann will officiate. Burial will follow at Shady Grove cemetery in Bremen. Visitation is Sunday night 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Campbell Light; son, Mickey Amon Light; parents, Dewey and Nellie Light; brothers, Stanley and Jerry Light; and sisters, Wilma Dooley and Jean Langley.
Survivors include his children, Jonathan Light, Angel Dooley (Omar), Frank Henderson and Elzie Brooks; grandchildren, Michael Jones (Rebecca), Ashton Jones and Makayla, Austin and Matt Swann; brothers and sisters, James Lelton Light (Dorothy), Eloise Bussey, Alma Lee Ragsdale (Billy Ray), J.L. Light (Susie), Franklin Light, T.J. Light (Debbie), Mary Ford and Terry Light (Leamon Pearce); several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
