Evola Byrd Taylor, age 89, Spruce Pine, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Evola was the oldest living member of Spruce Pine Baptist Church, having lived in the Spruce Pine Community for over 74 years. Over the years, she had worked at Phil Campbell Manufacturing, Kelwood, and HD Lee. She was a kind and loving woman, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Spruce Pine Baptist Church, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Bro. Jerome Sherrill. Burial will be at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Taylor; parents, Claude & Lina Mae Byrd; and brother, Orbie Byrd. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 16 years, Harvey Mason; children, Charles Taylor (wife, Mary Ann), Wanda Harper (husband, Fred), Sharron Farned (husband, Sammy); grandchildren, Jay Harper, Denise Harper Presley, William Harper, Charles Taylor, Jr., Mary Angela Harrelson; great-grandchildren, Madison, Kyndel, & Aubrey Harper, Marcus & Austin Brazell, Aiden Taylor, Cortney Harper, Carley, Emily, and Josh Harrelson; Christina Price, DeKota Harper; great-great-grandchildren, Kallisto, Mollie, Teagan, Lucas, Madison, and Raelyn; sister-in-law, Louise Byrd; and several nieces & nephews.
The pallbearers will be Jay Harper, Marcus Brazell, Josh Harrelson, Austin Brazell, Brandon Mitchel, and Charles Taylor, Jr. The honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Taylor and John Taylor.
