NW-SCC to host 250 high school students for SkillsUSA Northwest Alabama District competition

MUSCLE SHOALS, AL – Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) will host the SkillsUSA Northwest Alabama District competition on the Shoals campus for approximately 250 high school students tomorrow, March 17, 2017, beginning at 9 a.m.
 

Students will compete in 24 Career Technical and Leadership contests. Career technical competitions include: Architectural Drafting, Technical Drafting, Carpentry, Electrical Construction Wiring, Electronics, Welding, Automotive Service and Diesel Equipment.

Schools in the Northwest Alabama District consist of: Allen Thornton Career Technical School, Berry High School, Brilliant High School, Central High School-Florence, Deshler Career Technology Center, Fayette Area Career Technical School, Florence High School, Franklin County Career Tech Center, Hackleburg High School, Haleyville Center of Technology, Hamilton High School, Lamar County School of Technology, Lawrence County Center of Technology, Limestone Career Technology Center, Marion County High School, Muscle Shoals Career Academy, Muscle Shoals High School, Phillips High School, Russellville High School Career Technical, Sulligent High School, Walker County Center of Technology, Walker High School, Winfield City High School and Winston County Technology Center.
 
The top four winners in each category will advance to the state competition April 19-21 in Birmingham.
