Mathis H. Henry, 89, of Tuscumbia died Friday, March 10, 2017. Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Funeral service will follow in the chapel with J.T. Harrison and Wayne Barrier officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mathis was the owner of Henry’s Auto Parts and was retired from Jim Bishop Chevrolet. He was a member of Colbert Heights Church of Christ for over 60 years where he served as an elder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Henry; parents, Olen and Thelma Henry; and brothers, Bonnie Lee and Billy Harold Henry.
Survivors include his son, Roger Henry (Vicki); daughter, Cheryl Howard; brother, Claude Henry; sister-in-law, Juanita Henry; sisters, Oconee Hendrix (Lyle) and Geraldine West (Bill); grandchildren, Matt Henry (Trish), Amanda McDaniel (Mike) and Tiffany Holt (Chris); and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Holli and Houston Henry, Grace Ann and Jackson Holt, and Cotton McDaniel.
Pallbearers are Vance, Vaughn and Greg Henry, Barry and Alan West, Chris Holt and Mike McDaniel.
