Funeral services for Mr. Jeffrey Adam Eakes, age 29, of Petersburg, will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Wayne McGee and Matthew Sullenger officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Adam was a native of Lincoln County, Tennessee and son of Jeffery Wayne and Kimberly Smith Eakes. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, and attended the West Fayetteville Church of Christ. Adam owned B & B Drilling and Blasting Company.
Survivors include his wife Angel Newgent Eakes; sons Braden and Bentley Eakes; sisters Alyce (Jason) Burgess, Jessica (Caleb) Jean, and Ashley (Matthew) Sullenger; brother Adam Pigg, paternal grandmother Thelma Ruth Eakes; maternal grandfather Walter Smith, Jr.; sister-in-laws Jennifer (Kevin) Webb and Crystal Brannan; Angel’s parents, Allen and Darlene Freeman and Marshall and Paulette Newgent; and seventeen nieces and nephews. Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Columbus Eakes and maternal grandmother JoAnn Smith.
Visitation with the family will be 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eakes children Memorial Fund at First National Bank. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Jeffrey Adam Eakes.
