Leonard Johnny Farris, 88 of Lynn, passed away March 3, 2017.

He was born, March 25, 1928 to Wheeler and Etta Ganey-Farris. Mr. Farris was a retired Sergeant in the Army National Guard and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War, he worked as a mechanic in the coal mining industry. He was a member of Lynn Church of Christ

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 2 – 3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 3:00 p.m. . Burial will be at Baughn Cemetery in Lynn. Jason Langston and Darrell Pate will officiate the service.

Mr. Farris is survived by his Daughter, Donna Langston; grandchildren, Jason (Cindy) Langston and Heather (Kyle) Cotton; great-grandchildren, Brooks Cotton, Hampton Langston, Ansley Cotton, Carson Langston, and Sadie Merceed Cotton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Merceed Farris; seven brothers; and two sisters.
