Harold E. White – Obituary

 Harold E. White, 80, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Lexington, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at 6:54 a.m. Cause of death was kidney failure and dementia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady Oliver and Ethel Stella (Goodwin) White; one brother, Bert Oliver White; and one great-grandson, Hunter Scott Sample.

He leaves his companion of 36 years, Marilyn Goldstein; his son, Tommy (Vicki) White, of Del Valle Texas; his daughter, Kathy White, also of Austin Texas, and his daughter, Margaret White (Ron) Stewart, of Cabot, Arkansas; stepdaughters, Jana and Teri Goldstein, of Austin Texas, and Laura Fowler, of Houston, Texas. He also leaves behind siblings, Cheryl (Wendell) Truitt and Shelby McGee, of Lexington Alabama, Janice (Robert) Bivens, of Leoma, Tennessee, Ronnie (Jan) White, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Dorothy Foster, of Roanoke, Virginia and Ellease Boles, of Salem, Virginia, and Nell (Wayne) Morrell, of Bristol, Tennessee. Harold had 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Harold served as an Airman Second Class in the U.S.A.F. during the Korean War period. In 1960 he began his career working at the I.R.S. where he stayed for 35 years. He and Marilyn enjoyed traveling the U.S. and were able to visit over 90% of the states in the continental United States. His pride and joy, as his family knew, was his devotion to Marilyn and his passion for Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Longhorn sports. He will be loved and missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at Harrell Funeral Home, located at 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas 78745. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Onion Creek Memorial Park.
