Mrs. Eliza Ruthie “Ruth” Lee Pendergraft, 91, of Arab died Wednesday February 22, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Pendergraft was born November 19, 1935 in Madison County to Jefferson David Jones and Rosie Arlene Jones. She was a homemaker. Her husband James Edward Pendergraft preceded her in death on February 7, 2013. She enjoyed cooking, canning, going to yard sales and loved her chickens.
She was a member of Eddy Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children and in-laws: Janice Ruth Brown and Carolyn J. and John Moore; her grandchildren: Lisa Marie and Jimmy Embry, Kimberly Ann and Russ Deerman, Stacy Michelle and Ward Hull, Jeffery Lance and April Marie Smith; great grandchildren: Jonathan Embry, Sarah Beth Embry, Kaitlyn Embry, Emily Deerman, Jacob Deerman, Jeffrey Lance Smith Jr. and J. J. Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jefferson and Rosie Jones; her husband: James Edward Pendergraft; a son-in-law: Thomas F. Brown and a sister: Jean Patterson.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 25, 2017 at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
